Treasurer: Shirley Hockett
Shirley is a native of Tucson, Arizona. Her education includes degrees in Social Services, Public Management and Travel and Tourism.
Shirley is a member of the Tucson Black Film Club, a Life Member of the NAACP and The Pueblo Alumni Foundation. She is also Treasurer of The South Park Neighborhood Association, and Vice-Chair and Treasurer of the African-American Retiree’s of Tucson (AART). She is a member of the Travel Professionals of Color (TPOC) and chair of the TPOC Miracle Globe. She volunteers most of her time at the Dunbar Pavilion which is an African American Arts and Culture Center.
Some of her awards include the Robert L Horn Service Award, The NAACP President’s Recognition Award and the Black Women’s Task Force “Unsung Shero” Award.
As the past president for the Tucson Black Chamber of Commerce, Shirley is a strong advocate for supporting Black owned businesses. She believes in staying involved and connected to the community and recycling her Black Dollars.
Shirley is the mother of three grown children; Angela Wilson and Traci Hockett of Tucson and Kevin Hockett who resides in Phoenix, Arizona.
Her main interests are travel and music.
